Harry Kane, Tottenham’s lead striker, has made hints that he might meet with chairman Daniel Levy in the upcoming weeks. It happens as the England captain’s contract with Spurs enters its last year, making his future once again unknown.
When Manchester City was adamant to sign Kane in the summer of 2021, he was eager to leave Spurs. However, Kane has consistently disputed that he ever went so far as to refuse to train in an effort to force a transfer.
Over the past year, Bayern Munich has made no secret of their desire to capture Kane, and several news outlets has recently reported on the 29-year-old’s interest from both Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain. Additionally, news outlets are reporting that Spurs are preparing for Chelsea’s potential interest in their talisman.
Contract discussions with Kane are now on hold. Julian Nagelsmann and Luis Enrique have both been contacted about the position, although Spurs continue to also consider a number of other alternatives, including Xabi Alonso and Ruben Amorim. Those negotiations are expected to continue after a new permanent manager is hired. However, no decision has been reached yet.
Regarding the search for a manager, Kane remarked, “That’s up to the club.”
He made a suggestion that he might meet with Levy at some point, saying, “If I end up speaking with the chairman towards the end of the season, then I’m sure he’ll fill me in on what he’s thinking.”
“But ultimately, we still have three games left, so we shouldn’t get ahead of ourselves and start getting excited. We’ll simply have to wait and see what the club decides is best for everyone, including the players, the supporters, and the club as a whole.”
Various news publications have been made aware that Spurs are prepared to involve Kane in significant selections like the hiring of the new head coach in an effort to persuade him to devote his future to the team. In fact, the leadership is communicating with the larger team to get a sense of how they feel about the job. But it is believed that by consulting Kane in particular, he would be entirely satisfied with the decision and sign a new contract.
