Both Bayern Munich and Crystal Palace confirmed on Sunday that Michael Olise has joined Bayern Munich on a five-year deal. The 22-year-old winger scored 10 goals in 19 Premier League games last season despite missing significant time due to injury.
Olise reportedly attracted interest from Manchester United, Chelsea, and Newcastle but ultimately chose to move to the Bundesliga to team up with Bayern’s Harry Kane. Sources indicate that Chelsea’s efforts to sign Olise were hindered by the high transaction cost, estimated at £60 million ($76.8 million) after Bayern activated his release clause.
Despite his injury setbacks, Olise’s performance last season was impressive, and he has been selected for the France team for the Olympic football competition in Paris this July.
