Man City’s ‘champions’ performance’ in their 3-1 victory over Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium has been praised by Erling Haaland.
The first half of Wednesday’s game saw Man City significantly outplayed, but they came out firing in the second half to secure an important victory.
Haaland, one of the Citizens’ goal scorers during that second-half effort, spoke with Amazon Prime after the game about the victory and his team’s performance.
City are the champs, not me, so you may say that, he added.
“We have good quality players, and we have to get the best out of every player, which we achieved tonight. Pep made a small modification at halftime.
“I am so proud of every guy here and so grateful to be here. We need to play a little bit more like this periodically, and that is what we did today. We can all agree that [Arsenal] has been the best team this season, so playing them is not easy. Nonetheless, we played an incredible game and earned three crucial points, putting us back in the race.
We needed this win, and now we must continue our winning streak because it is what Manchester City ought to do. I am really thrilled with everything.
Man City overtook Arsenal in the Premier League standings as a result of that victory because of their better goal differential, but supporters of the Gunners will take heart from the knowledge that their team still has a game in hand on their opponents.
