According to various news reports, Argentine football sensation Lionel Messi is finalizing a record transfer from Paris Saint-Germain to Al-Hilal of Saudi Arabia. In the Saudi league, Al Hilal is currently Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr team’s fiercest opponent.
Negotiations are taking on, according to sources close to the agreement, despite neither Messi’s present club nor the player himself having made a confirmation. They also mentioned Messi’s current contract, which runs through June 30. “Messi is already set in stone,” according to an unnamed source. “The following season, he will play in Saudi Arabia. The agreement is unique. It’s enormous. Just completing a few minor touches.”
Earlier this week, Messi’s father and agent Jorge debunked the allegations on Instagram by saying that no decision would be made until Messi’s PSG contract expired. The annual contract to play in Saudi Arabia is said to be worth about $660 million USD. Messi was most recently suspended by PSG as a result of an unapproved travel to Saudi Arabia, where he serves as a tourist ambassador.
Where Messi will play after his deal with PSG expires is yet unknown.
