Five combatants received post-fight bonuses on Saturday thanks to another rowdy crowd at UFC Charlotte and a large payout from UFC President Dana White.
Bryan Battle, a hometown favorite who stunned Gabe Green with a spectacular 14-second knockout on the preliminary program, received a personal tip of the hat from White.
Battle missed weight on Friday, excluding him from the bonus at first, but White made the decision to award him after the highlight-reel knockout.
In addition, Matt Brown received a $50,000 bonus for his walk-off victory over Court McGee in the first round, which tied the UFC knockout record for all-time. In total, Brown has received nine post-fight bonuses over the course of his UFC career, which began with his appearance on The Ultimate Fighter season 7 in 2008.
Jailton Almeida earned a bonus after winning the main event after choking out Jairzinho Rozenstruik in the first round to extend his overall victory streak to 14.
In addition, Carlos Ulberg received a bonus for his first-round TKO victory over Ihor Potieria. This was his second post-fight UFC bonus; his first came in the form of a “Fight of the Night” prize.
Last but not least, Ian Garry received the $50,000 Performance of the Night prize for his head kick against Daniel Rodriguez, which resulted in a finish a short while later.
