Newly-promoted Elche want Diego Maradona to be their manager on their return to LaLiga action, according to reports.
Elche earned their spot in Spain‘d top flight after emerging victorious in the Segunda play-offs, beating both Real Zaragoza and Girona.
Despite guiding the side to greater heights, the decision was taken to remove boss Jose Rojo Pacheta just days after the celebrations.

That move came at the request of the new owner, Christian Bragarnik, who has been likened to super-agent Jorge Mendes, who has played an influencial role at Wolves.
Now according to Super Deporte via Football Espana, he could use his influence to bring in Maradona for the new season.
Maradona had two stints in Spain as a player, with Barcelona in the 1980s and Sevilla in 1990s
Maradona is currently managing in his native Argentina, where he is boss at Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata.
It is his eighth head coach role, having also previously managed Racing Club and Al-Wasl, as well as the Argentina national team.
Maradona enjoyed to stints in Spain as a player, turning out for Barcelona between 1982 and 1984, before spending a season with Sevilla in 1992.
