Manchester City's Rodri named UCL Player of the Season -

Manchester City midfielder Rodri was honored by UEFA on Sunday as the 2022–23 Champions League Player of the Season.

The 26-year-old international from Spain scored the game-winning goal as City won the title for the first time on Saturday by defeating Inter Milan 1-0.

Rodri scored twice while playing in all but one of City’s Champions League games. He was named Player of the Match for his outstanding effort in the championship game. Manchester City players occupied seven of the team’s eleven spots.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, a 22-year-old Georgian who plays for Napoli, was voted the Champions League Young Player of the Season, concluding a fantastic season.

With Napoli, Kvaratskhelia won the Serie A championship and the league’s MVP award earlier this month.
