Charlotte Hornets forward Miles Bridges may have a bone to pick with team owner Michael Jordan.
Bridges signaled he’s more than ready to take on His Airness, issuing a challenge after Jordan infamously declared in 2015 that he could beat his players in a game of one-on-one.
“I’m pretty sure I can, so I don’t want to do that and demolish their confidence,” Jordan, then 52, told French publication L’Equipe. “So I stay away from them, I let them think they’re good … but I’m too old to do that anyway.”
Jordan, 57, has put his money where his mouth is against Hornets players in the past. Back in 2013, former No. 2 pick Michael Kidd-Gilchrist acknowledged Jordan bested him in a one-on-one.
Whether Jordan could still emerge victorious against the 22-year-old reigning Rising Stars MVP in Bridges remains up for debate, but there’s only one way to find out.
