Sarina Wiegman, the manager of England, has been crowned Best FIFA Women’s Coach after leading the Lionesses to victory at Euro 2022 last summer.
Wiegman has already won the highest coaching trophy three times in her career, having previously won it in 2017 and 2020 while leading the Netherlands.
In 2018, 2019, and 2021, the 53-year-old finished second and third, respectively. She has been in the top three for six years in a row, a record that no other coach can match.
Wiegman is still undefeated as England manager after taking over in the autumn of 2021 and leading her team to 15 victories in 17 games in 2022. This includes a run of 14 consecutive wins from the start of the calendar year, which included a 2-1 triumph over the world champions United States in front of 76,000 fans at Wembley Stadium in October.
Among Wiegman’s most spectacular performances of the year were an 8-0 Euro 2022 group stage hammering of a Norway team that many predicted would do well in the tournament and a 4-0 semi-final destruction of a Sweden squad that was regarded a pre-tournament favorites along with England and Spain.
Wiegman has helped worldwide performers such as Leah Williamson, Beth Mead, and Mary Earps to new heights, while also bringing budding stars like as Ella Toone, Alessia Russo, and Chloe Kelly to the forefront.
England have already made a good start to 2023 by regaining the Arnold Clark Cup and will fly to Australia and New Zealand as one of the favourites to win the World Cup.
Sonia Bompastor of Lyon and Pia Sundhage of Brazil were the other finalists.
