Despite not being able to play for the national team since the Euro 2020 tournament, Eriksen still wants to represent his country at the 2022 FIFA World Cup. The midfielder, who recently recovered from a serious injury, said that he wants to represent Denmark at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Since he suffered a cardiac arrest during a match in June, the 27-year-old has been out of action. He is now a free agent and wants to prove his fitness to his manager.
During an interview, he said that his desire to play at the 2022 FIFA World Cup has always been his goal.
Although he’s not yet ready to play again, Eriksen said that his desire to return to the national team has always been his goal. He added that he’s still working to improve his skills and become a better player.
“The National Team is vital. I need to play for the National team in the World Cup. My fantasy is to rejoin the National team, play at Parken again and demonstrate that it was a one-clock and that it will not repeat.
“I need to demonstrate I’ve continued on and that I can play in the National team once more. Once more, it’s dependent upon the supervisor to survey my level, yet my heart isn’t an impediment.”
Eriksen offers thanks
Eriksen proceeded to thank those that upheld him, both during his episode and in the months since.
“It was stunning that such countless individuals wanted to compose or send roses,” he said. “It affected such countless individuals and they wanted to tell me and my family. That makes me extremely cheerful.”
“At the emergency clinic, they continued to say I’d got an ever increasing number of blossoms. It was strange, I didn’t anticipate that people should send roses since I’d passed on for five minutes. It was very remarkable, yet it was exceptionally great of everybody and it’s been a major assistance to me to get that large number of all the best.
“Individuals actually keep in touch with me. I’ve expressed gratitude toward individuals I’ve met face to face. I’ve said thanks to the specialists, my partners and their families face to face. In any case, every one of the fans who’ve sent a large number of letters and messages and blossoms – or who’ve come dependent upon me in the city in both Italy and Denmark – I say thanks to them for the help I got from everywhere the world that helped me through this.”
