Following Paris Saint-Germain‘s home loss 0-1 to Bayern Munich in the first leg of their Champions League round of 16 match, Kylian Mbappe has issued a rallying call.
Tuesday night at the Parc des Princes, the Bavarians won by a slim margin thanks to a goal from Kingsley Coman.
Mbappe, who had just recovered from a thigh injury, came off the bench in the second half and gave the hosts life after a disastrous first half in which PSG had exactly zero chances on goal.
He had two goals ruled out for offside, and Bayern was later reduced to 10 men after Benjamin Pavard was sent for a reckless foul while already in the penalty box.
Mbappe reiterated to RMC after the game that PSG was “disadvantaged” by his prior health issues, but that if they are totally healthy, they will cause Bayern difficulties at the Allianz Arena.
We must consider the outcome of the match; despite being at a disadvantage, we managed to trouble them, he remarked.
“To qualify, we’re traveling to Munich. We worked continuously. For the second leg, our players must be in good physical condition, and everyone must get enough rest. When we play offensive football, Bayern is not at ease.”
