According to latest news reports, Real Madrid is awaiting Karim Benzema’s confirmation that he will remain with the team this summer.

In March, Benzema and Los Blancos reached an agreement on a new one-year contract extension. However, the deal has yet to be finalized, and the Ballon d’Or contender is now examining his options.

Benzema, 35, is reportedly considering his options after receiving a substantial two-year contract offer to relocate to Saudi Arabia, according to a number of news sources.

Though they are eager to secure Benzema’s future at the team as soon as possible, Los Blancos are not thought to be impatient with the time it is taking for him to sign a contract at the Santiago Bernabeu. The team has assumed—and continues to assume—that the forward will remain in place, which is why they are pursuing a move for veteran striker Joselu to give Benzema some offensive backup.

Due to Espanyol’s relegation, 33-year-old Joselu is now a free agent and will play the backup position of an experienced veteran. However, Los Blancos will need to sign a first-choice number nine this summer in addition to Joselu if Benzema decides to depart.

According to several rumors, the club has a long-term interest in Harry Kane and Victor Osimhen, and if Karim Benzema left, they might be considered this summer.
