Bukayo Saka has renewed his long-term deal with Arsenal, the club has confirmed.
The Arsenal have been attempting to lock up the winger with a new contract ever since it was first revealed in February that the two parties had reached an agreement in principle.
And now Saka has officially signed the new contract, according to confirmation from Arsenal.
Saka has had another excellent campaign at the Emirates Stadium, playing a key role in their ultimately unsuccessful bid for the Premier League title.
With 13 goals and 11 assists in the top division this season, he is one of just two players, the other being Mohamed Salah, to have double digits in both categories.
Many of Arsenal’s important players are still being worked on to ensure their futures. William Saliba and Aaron Ramsdale have already entered into new contracts, while various news sources just claimed that negotiations with captain Martin Odegaard are on the horizon.
Santiago Gimenez is being pursued by a number of Premier League teams, including Tottenham.
Granit Xhaka backed out of contract negotiations, but Arsenal is prepared to let him depart this summer. His transfer to Bayer Leverkusen is almost complete.
The Swiss midfielder has acknowledged that this week will see the announcement of his future.
“You will know the latest next week, for sure,” he said to the Evening Standard after Arsenal’s 1-0 loss at Nottingham Forest on Saturday.
“I think they [the fans] deserve that and I do myself as well. We have one more week of this Premier League season, the first thing is I want to enjoy and, for sure, you guys will know next week what happens with my future.”
